Happy May Day!
Here’s a flower in case you are having a cold icky May Day like Cordelia and all our NM friends. Can you believe it’s snowing in parts of the state? Me neither.
Back to the important business of sewing. If you are anything like me you are always on the quest for cool new fabric marking tools.
I have just discovered a great new one, and the best part is it’s not even a sewing tool so you can pick it up just about anywhere where they sell office supplies.
So next time you find yourself in Target look for these guys: FriXion Erasable Gel Pens.
Now you may be wondering what makes this pen so much cooler than traditional marking tools like chalk?
Well I’ll tell ya.
You can draw all over your fabric and then all you have to do is hit it with a hot iron and like magic the ink disappears in seconds! Easy Peasy!
But what if you accidentally iron off marks you still need?
No problem. Throw your fabric in the freezer for a few minutes and the marks are back!
It’s magic.
And then when you are done with them they iron off again.
But what happens when you wear the garment outside in the cold? Do the marks comeback?
Well I suppose they can, but the pens are totally washable, so just throw the garment in the wash and problem solved!
Here I washed the sample fabric and left it in the freezer for a few hours.
See no marks!
How cool is that?
And just in case you are wondering, you do have to use the friXion pens.
I tried a test with your regular old erasable pens and they did not work.
Happy Marking
~Melisa & Cordelia
