So I’m getting ready to start teaching my fall classes at Ann Silva’s Bernina Sewing Center and I thought you might want a preview of some of the classes. If you are in the ABQ aria and would like to make one of these coats stop by Ann's and sign up today! You’ll be glad you did!
I recently discovered this book and it immediately became my new favorite book ever. So I bought it, and to justify the purchase—because really, the last thing I need is ANOTHER sewing book—I decided I would use it to teach a class.
Here's where you can find it cause I know your gonna want the book too:
So I made this jacket cause fall is coming around the corner and I figured my students would want something to keep them nice and toasty warm this winter.
Plus apparently it looks great over Rosie's wedding dress.
I love this coat! It’s got a nice peter pan collar.
I found these buttons at a yard sale. I think. I don’t really remember but they are on the older side and they worked perfectly.
I added a little back belt cause it’s slimming and accentuates the soft back gathers.
Love it!
Well then I was so inspired by my adult coat that I decided to make a child’s coat too.
I used this pattern from some company in Australia which is super cute, but apparently they decided to discontinue it. Silly them.
But here's the link just in case:
Seriously, look at how cute this thing is.
With it’s big covered button.
But wait!
It gets even cuter!
How? You ask.
Like this.
It’s REVERSIBLE!!!!
Now that’s a cutie!
It’s almost enough to make me want to start reproducing. Almost.
Happy Classes
